
Within easy walking distance of Riverside House you will find much to do within the ancient city walls. Down every street there is a wealth of history in the buildings alone. It feels cosmopolitan but retains many individually owned shops which give interest to a city.
Much of York is pedestrianised with plenty of places to eat from sandwich shops to top quality restaurants there is something for everyone's taste, all within walking distance.
Bicycles are very much a part of York (the joy of it being flat) and cycle hire can be arranged. Follow the river from Riverside House along the tow paths, you will not be disappointed.

Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington is a short journey from York and situated in a 20acre parkland on the former World War II RAF Bomber Command Station.
The North Yorkshire Moors, one of the most beautiful open landscapes in England must not be missed.
Rosedale, Hutton-le Hole, Lastingham, are just a few of the villages worth visiting. Fancy a moorland walk? Park the car at Lastingham and walk to Hutton-le Hole and back, a perfect day.
Whitby needs no introduction. The 13th Century Abbey and all its history, the cobbled streets and a fine beach make for another great day.
